Woman undergoes pioneering eyelash implant surgery

For 10 years the English Caroline Medcalf wore false eyelashes daily to achieve the fascinating look she wanted to have. But all this vanity came at a price: its natural lashes were so damaged that they began to fall and practically disappeared. The damage was aggravated when she had an eye infection.

Desperate, the 42-year-old woman sought medical help and became the first patient in the UK to undergo a pioneering eyelash implant. There were 70 wires implanted in his eyelids, in an operation that lasted three hours.

The hair band was taken from the back of your scalp and placed individually by the surgeon on the skin of the lower eyelids using a special needle. I am very happy. In the new beauty routine I'll just have to cut my new eyelashes every couple of weeks, because they're made of head hair and grow exactly the same way, so they need more care than natural eyelashes, ”said the woman.

Surgeon Asim Shahmalak, a hair loss specialist and head of Caroline's implant, spoke about the risks of using false eyelashes constantly. Many women permanently damage their eyelashes by overuse of false eyelashes. Can glue clog the hair follicle and eventually cause it to lose its natural lashes?
