5 menstrual calendar apps to monitor your cycle and make your life easier

Know the right date of menstruation, the fertile period, avoid or schedule a pregnancy, keep up with symptoms like cramps or headaches? All of this is important information for any woman's health. And technology can be an ally at such times.

Some mobile apps are designed exactly to fulfill this menstrual cycle monitoring function, helping women better control this period. Many are free and easy to use, just install on your phone and fill in your details.

Before choosing which one is best for your lifestyle and what you need, check out five great apps:

1. OvuView

Available for free for Android devices, it allows you to get data related to the entire menstrual cycle and from them, create graphs, among other features. The app shows the approximate dates of upcoming menstruations, usually very effectively and with a small margin of error, and also points out the period of fertility and ovulation. Thus it can function even as a control of conception. The downside is that there is no password protection in the free version (there is a paid version with more features).

2. Maya

It works like a calendar, where you just have to mark the first and last day of the period, so that the application itself does all the control work. It also allows notes to be inserted about the symptoms of each day, such as colic, moodiness, among others. Each symptom is represented by an icon and the entire app interface is cute and easy to understand. It's available for free in Portuguese for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone, but it does show some advertising in the footer, which may bother you.

3. Glow

Easy to use and useful for those who want more precise control over the fertile period, whether to plan a pregnancy or to avoid it. Among the features offered are the calendar and a fertility tracker, which generates information about the cycle, provides a prediction of the chances of getting pregnant, and has an alert to warn you about dates that are often accurate. It also makes it possible to record the physical activities practiced and the calories ingested. It works for Android and iOS, but is available in English only.

4. Clue

Available for Android and iOS, there are some questions that should be answered as soon as the app is installed, such as cycle length, last menstrual date, and more. For each answer an explanation is displayed and from this data the next cycle is calculated. It also allows you to enter information about pain, bleeding volume, mood swings, emotions, and warns you when you can get pregnant. It's free and has a simple to use interface.

5. Menstrual Calendar

It marks the monthly dates of menstruation and, from them, makes a calculation of the average duration of the last three cycles to reach the date of the next. You can also track ovulation days, take notes and make notes that can be helpful in doctor appointments, and maintain weight control. It's simple and free and available for Android.

Each application has its own specific functionality, but all of them address the key point of knowing your own menstrual cycle better and being able to keep track of important dates, helping to maintain health and sex life.
