Mother's Day is approaching, and with it comes that same old drama: what am I going to give as a gift? You have probably spent all the options between clothing, shoes, accessories and cosmetics, and each year it becomes harder to find a creative memory.
Besides, is it quite possible that your mother already has all the cabinets stuffed with objects? and the joy of receiving a new hand-painted porcelain cup will fade as soon as she realizes she has no room to store anything else.
Despite that, of course you don't want Mother's Day to go blank, do you? After all, you know that you owe everything that you are and have today to her, the time she has dedicated to you and your creation.
So why not innovate in the present this year and, instead of giving something material, propose an activity that will generate a beautiful memory among you? See 8 ideas:
1. Take a cooking class
If you have inherited your passion for cooking from your mother, or if you both love a type of dish, why not take a cooking class together? You can learn how to decorate cupcakes, prepare a typical dish from another country or even how to make a full dinner for several guests.

If your city does not offer a cooking school, check with your favorite restaurants to see if you could not take a tour of the kitchen with a demonstration of how to prepare some dishes from the menu.
2. Enjoy a day spa together
It may have been many years since your mother stopped changing her diapers, but we bet she hasn't fully recovered from her tiredness at that time. So, how about giving her a day spa? Best of all, you go with her so you can enjoy the day together!
Can you choose a package with manicure, pedicure, reflexology, exfoliation, massage, soaking bath? Everything your mother (and you) is entitled to!
3. Learn something new together
Have you always wanted to learn sign language? Does your mother want to learn to grow orchids? Or maybe you both love wine and would love to learn more about this topic?
So enjoy Mother's Day to engage in a new common interest! You can do a workshop or enroll in a longer course, increasing the relationship between the two of you.

4. Do a task your mother is avoiding
Do you know those tasks that we avoid doing at all costs but need to be done? Take the car in the overhaul, organize the photos from decades ago, leave the clothes that need makeover at the seamstress? So this can become a gift for your mother.
Find out something she needs to do but is not in the mood for and solve it for her. Your gift will be your most precious asset: your time.
5. Hire a professional photo shoot
It's quite possible that your mom will be on Facebook by now and spend hours and hours enjoying all the flower posts, good morning wishes, and professional photos of New Born rehearsals and weddings. Do you feel that sadness when you look at the unfocused selfies you took with your phone's front camera?
How about helping your mom succeed on social networks? Hire a photographer to do a family rehearsal and set aside time for him to make a book of his own! Your mom will love the rain of likes.
6. Take part in an activity she loves
Is your mother much more fitness than you and running or doing yoga classes? Or maybe she has an artistic talent and joins the painting club?

Whatever your mother's hobby is, a good gift idea for this day is to join her in this activity. Ask her to slow down if you can't keep up and make an effort to get to know her world further.
7. Do volunteer work together
One way to connect, show your gratitude, and create a special memory is to choose a cause to contribute. It could be organizing pet fairs, visiting cancer patients or organizing a bazaar for an institution for the elderly.
Doing volunteer work together will bring you and your mother closer together and help you realize how lucky you are to have each other. Maybe you do not adopt the cause once and become regular collaborators, right?
8. Travel only you two
It may not be possible to book an international trip with your mother, but spending a weekend on the beach or in the neighboring country town will be an excellent opportunity to bond, see different things and relax.
If a weekend is too long, you can still make a reservation at the best hotel in town for both of you to be pampered for one night without interruptions of any kind.

More than a shirt, a shoe, or a soap and moisturizer kit, you know what your mother expects most from you: your presence. A tight hug, a popped kiss, and a few hours in your company will make her happier than any material gift.
