Malu Goraieb explains that dry environments, such as a lobby, living rooms and bedrooms, can be decorated with wall cloth. "Areas such as kitchens and bathrooms often have a lot of moisture, and the contact of water with glue can soften, melt and spoil the fabric," he says.
The interior designer adds, however, that she does not recommend the use of wall fabric for those who have rhinitis, as it naturally accumulates dust.
How to apply wall fabric step by step
Below, Malu Goraieb explains how to apply the wall fabric:
- Make sure the wall is clean, smooth and use a level to scratch the line where the paper will be placed;
- Secure the fabric before applying the glue, make sure it is not bent (sometimes the walls are crooked and this influences the result);
- Use a wide brush to pass the glue with water;
- Press the fabric with a spatula, as if to put a sticker and remove the bubbles;
- Do not glue more than one strip on the same day, expect the first to dry, as some fabrics may shrink and create unwanted seams.

To ensure that the wall fabric is durable, thoroughly vacuum clean it once a week. If stains appear, you can wipe the fabric with a damp cloth and mild soap, always avoiding abrasive products.
