Care in the use of ammonia

Ammonia, sometimes called simply ammonia, is a cleaning product consisting of a solution made from water-diluted ammonia gas. It can be used as a kitchen degreaser, for cleaning glass, tiles and wood and as a stain remover.

Despite being a very efficient product mainly in removing the most incrusted fat, it offers some dangerous to our health.

Ammonia vapors have irritating effects on the respiratory system and may cause cough, laryngeal and lung edema, bouts of bronchitis and inflammation, and nausea. In liquid form, it can cause skin and eye burns.

Because of this, it is recommended to always wear gloves when handling ammonia, and keep windows open to ventilate the environment. Another caution is never to mix it with bleach (in fact, any blending with bleach can be very dangerous).

It is also worth remembering that all cleaning products should be kept out of reach of children and animals.
By following these precautions, you can harness the cleansing power of ammonia to make your life much safer.
