Vibrating device promises to reduce wrinkles with facial exercise

From botox and creams to lasers and surgeries, the beauty market is saturated with products and gadgets that promise to help slow the signs of aging. However, the latest technology is the most unusual of recent times: Lift Away The Years, a vibrating product that exercises the muscles of the face, and promises to bring firmness and fight wrinkles, as well as moisturize.

The battery-powered device should be used twice a day on the face and neck and is designed to assist the facial muscles as a personal trainer, according to Crystal Clear, a manufacturing company. The company also claimed that the muscles of the face are subject to deterioration and sagging as well as the muscles of the body and therefore require the same toning and exercise.

The device also releases a peptide-packed anti-aging serum like Syn-Ake, based on a polypeptide found in the viper venom, which is particularly effective in reducing expression lines and wrinkles.

The product was developed by Sharon Hilditch, MBE, MD of Crystal Clear and was tested on 30 volunteers over eight weeks. It was found that its home use reduced the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by 27%, and there was a 45% increase in skin firmness.
